Seed: Large 4-6” cones, brown, pendulous. Seed source is Upper Michigan.
Preferred Soil: ph 5-6, acid, well-drained but moist
Attributes: Fast growing and very hardy. It sometimes will develop large secondary branch leaders that curve gracefully upward. The free hanging abundant branchlets, commonly seen in mature trees, will also invites curious onlookers.
